Appliances and an almost exploding head

C and I spent the day doing online research on appliances, and then he bravely trooped to two local appliance stores with me. I didn't want to go, but he thought it was a good idea to get some more prices. Consumer Reports says that you usually get a better deal and better service at a local independent store than at a larger chain store. It was really painful - there is just so much information and it is so hard to compare. We did end up getting some better prices though, so I am glad we went (even though it was awful!). I think we both feel pretty confident that we are making a good decision.
