Week ending 6/15/12

The big news this week is that we finally got the contract done for the bathtub replacement.  It took almost 4 months just to get a contract!  And people wonder why remodeling takes so long......  This project will be a long one, but not because of the work.  We're going on vacation soon for 2 weeks and then I have to get all the supplies ordered which will take a while.  Then we have to get on the contractor's schedule, and the work will take about 2 weeks by his estimate which means it could take even longer.  I really hope by the end of summer this is behind me.  I'm dreading every step, and the work will be a huge disruption.  We'll have to shower at the local swimming pool and we won't have a toilet for at least one night, which means a hotel room.  The good news is that this is the last big project inside the house for an indefinite period.  Only if we decide to do something big like an addition will we have any more big jobs in the house.

Week ending 6/8/12

The contract for the bathroom is almost done - I just need to review all the final pieces and sign it.  I'm ready to do that but just didn't have time this week.
